Where is Susie Dent and who is replacing her on Countdown?
COUNTDOWN viewers tuning into Channel 4 have noticed something different about their favourite quiz show.
That’s because Susie Dent is absent from her post in the famous Dictionary Corner.
Where is Susie Dent on Countdown?
Susie Dent has been missing from Countdown since Monday December 5, 2022.
At the time, host Colin Murray said that the popular brainiac was just “off for the week”.
But when Susie was missing again from Countdown on Monday December 12, 2022, fans begin to wonder why she was still off.
Host Colin acknowledged her absence, but did not give an exact reason, just saying that they “missed her”.
Susie hasn’t yet commented publicly about her absence.
Who is replacing Susie Dent on Countdown?
From December 5, 2022 to December 9, 2022 Susie was replaced by comedian Rufus Hound.
Discussing being on the show he said: “People ask me what my party trick was.
“I said I’m highly-skilled in replacing the world’s most accomplished lexicographer at a moment’s notice on a televised word show.”
Meanwhile, since December 12, 2022, Susie has been replaced by Radio 1 star Vick Hope.
Speaking about being picked for Dictionary Corner, Vick told host Colin: “Thank you for having me. I’m literally in my element.
“I’m like a kid in a sweet shop. It’s a dream come true.”
When will Susie Dent be back on Countdown?
On December 12, 2022, Colin said Susie was expected to be back on the show today (December 13, 2022).
But it has now been revealed that Vick will be her replacement all this week (ending December 16, 2022).
It came after the DJ made the announcement herself on Instagram.
Wearing different outfits in her selection of snaps, Vick proved that she has already filmed all of the instalments, which will air each day until Friday (December 16, 2022)
She wrote: ‘=”Aaaahhhh VICKTIONARY CORNER!!! So so SO excited to be joining the wonderful Countdown team on @channel4 every afternoon this week at 2 in Dictionary Corner!
“The loveliest of times with the loveliest bunch, MAN I LOVE WORDS SO MUCH! Thank you for having me, daada daada dadadada BUMMM.”
With this in mind, Susie is expected to return to the show on Monday December 19, 2022.
