Alex Jones scolds The One Show cameraman for distracting her – naming and shaming him on live TV
ALEX Jones took a moment to scold a cameraman on The One Show after he distracted her live on air.
The TV host even went as far as naming and shaming the culprit as she tried to introduce a segment on the show.
It came shortly after Alex, 44, and co-host Jermaine Jenas, 38, had introduced Chris O’Dowd and Anna Maxwell Martin to the programme to speak about their new West End play, Constellations.
Alex, who is currently pregnant with her third child, was trying to line up a feature about the work being done on the HS2 train line.
She told viewers: “Kevin Duala is burrowing under the M25 with a massive boring machine… slowly creating the controversial HS2 train lines.”
But as she heard laughing in the background, Alex was quick to call out the offender.
“Not that type of burrowing, Phil on camera three,” the Welsh presenter added.
“Burrowing, down, into the ground!”
NAMED AND SHAMED
Her reaction caused laughter to erupt throughout the studio, with Jermaine also struggling to compose himself.
The segment later showed Kevin taking a closer look at the HS2 tunnel.
Driving along the M25, he told fans of the BBC show: “The lorries and drivers around me are going about their day to day business.
“And they’re probably oblivious to the fact that there is something momentous happening just 10 metres below the road surface.”
Kevin continued: “Underneath the ground, a huge tunnel has been dug.
“It’s the first of several being built for HS2, the controversial high-speed train line will get you from London to Birmingham in just 49 minutes with plans to expand further north to Manchester and Leeds.”
Alex will be making a temporary exit from her presenter role on the show as she prepares for the birth of her third child – a daughter – with husband Charlie Thomson later this year.
News of her replacement is yet to be announced.
Alex and Charlie are already parents to sons Teddy, four, and Kit, two.
The One Show airs weekdays at 7pm on BBC One.
