AN MP was left red-faced when she called Kate Garraway "Fiona" after being grilled on Good Morning Britain.
Victoria Atkins, parliamentary under-secretary for the Home Office, was called out by Kate's co-host Ben Shephard who appeared irritated by the gaffe.
Kate and Victoria were going head to head over the so-called "pingdemic" after Business Minister Paul Scully said you DON’T have to legally isolate when pinged by NHS test and trace app.
Presenter Kate, 54, said: "If you get pinged, do you have to self-isolate or as the business minister, Paul Scully said, actually leave it to your own judgement?"
"Well, no, we go further than that," insisted the MP.
"The guidance is you must please isolate and the reason for that..."
Cutting in Kate asked: "What was the business minister talking about then?"
Annoyed she had been interrupted, Victoria slipped up when she said: "If I may just develop the answer, Fiona.
"The key point is we know self-isolation is a key tool in helping us with this stage of the pandemic."
Later in the interview, Victoria was pulled up on her blunder by Ben.
He said: "Paul just made a mistake, he misspoke. We all misspeak.
"I call Kate loads of things, but she's definitely not a Fiona though...
"But you have a very busy morning though so don't worry we'll forgive you that."
Victoria looked bemused before apologising for the error.
"It's fine," replied Kate.
