Love Island’s Lillie Haynes slams ‘cheating’ Liam after he dumped her for Millie

STUNNING Love Island blonde Lillie Haynes has hit out at Liam Reardon after millions of viewers saw him dump her for rival Millie Court.

In an exclusive chat with The Sun on Sunday, Lillie slams the hunk for making her think she had won his heart — and says he “mugged off” both Millie and her.

The 22-year-old Geordie lass was at the centre of Friday night’s explosive love triangle episode on the ITV2 show when she told devastated Millie that she and Liam had kissed behind her back and shared a bed together.

The bombshell revelation — just minutes after Millie and Liam, who had spent days apart, shared a happy reunion — left Millie in tears and plunged the villa into chaos.

Speaking about the love triangle for the first time, Lillie admitted she saw red after walking into the villa to see Liam cuddling up to his unsuspecting other half.

And she said she told the truth in a bid to stop unsuspecting Millie being taken in by Liam’s lies.

Lillie said last night: “When I found out Liam hadn’t chosen me, I felt misled. He’d been giving me what I wanted to hear and I was convinced he was the one.

“He made me feel as if I had a really strong chance of going back to the villa with him. He was very hands-on — we were like a couple in there.

“So I definitely thought I was going to get picked. When he chose to go back alone, I was shocked.

“Then when I walked into the villa with the other girls, I didn’t like how Liam had Millie’s necklace and his arm around her after how he’d been with me.

“It wouldn’t have been nice of me to stand there and let her be happy and lovey, thinking: ‘Oh, he’s come back’ when she was being mugged off.

“So I spoke up as one girl to another — I wasn’t staying in the villa to say my piece, so I wanted to say something to put a question mark in Millie’s head about him.

"Because he is going to have to say something about what happened between us. And I don’t know if it’s going to be the whole truth.

“I didn’t do it to cause drama or be petty, but I wanted her to know to be a bit wary of him. I had nothing to lose and nothing to gain at that point.”

Fans were stunned last week when Welsh bricklayer Liam, 21, gave in to temptation by snogging Lillie during a “lads holiday” at Casa Amor — while Millie was left behind in the main TV villa.

While Millie, 24, shunned six new men who joined the main villa, Liam agreed to go “100 per cent” for Lillie — sharing a bed with her and kissing her passionately.

But reappearing in the villa alone on Friday night, Liam clutched Millie’s favourite Sagittarius necklace and said it felt “amazing” to be back.

To Millie’s delight, he said: “The time apart was hard but I’m back where I belong. It makes you realise where your heart is and mine has been up in this villa the whole time.”

But her relief turned to horror minutes later when Lillie walked into the villa and told of her shock that she had been dumped by Liam after their steamy clinches.

She said they shared a “good connection, very 50/50” and added: “The actions were pretty equal — sharing a bed together, kissing outside of challenges.”

And her honesty sent shockwaves through the Islanders.

Lillie explained: “When I met Liam, his personality shone through and he gave me strong signals that he was also into me. So it just kind of happened naturally.

“I had that instant attraction straight away. His dare in our first game was to kiss the Islander he found most attractive, which was me. I felt the exact same.

“We were all there to find the same thing, which is love.

“Obviously, when Liam was saying to be respectful towards Millie I did step back and respected that.

"And he did mention Millie a couple of times, saying that she was ‘back home’ in the villa and that he’s got to be respectful of the situation.

“But I still feel like I was misled, because actions speak louder than words.

“The first time we kissed outside a challenge or a game, he spoke to the boys, and I heard that it was kind of a bragging conversation.

“From what I heard it seemed pretty positive on his behalf as well.

“Now I feel like he’s going to be very defensive over everything that happened, but it is what it is.

"There’s nothing I can do or say that’s going to change his opinion on how he handled things.

“You’ve got to remember it’s a show to find someone, and he did go back to her.

“I think that does speak volumes. It’s just not nice how he’s dealt with it.

“He could have gone about it a bit more respectfully, like he kept saying.

"But it is Millie’s choice what she wants to do at the end of the day and how she feels about him.”

At the close of Friday night’s episode, which was watched by three million people, fashion buying administrator Millie was seen still reeling from Lillie’s bombshell.

But trainee accountant Lillie, from South Shields, Tyne and Wear, insisted she never meant to hurt her.

She went on: “Millie is an absolutely lovely girl and I’m so upset that she got upset in the situation. I never intended to hurt her feelings.

Family's #bekind appeal

LILLIE’S family last night urged viewers not to bombard her with hateful messages, insisting: “Only one person has behaved badly and it most definitely was not Lillie.”

Her loved ones took to social media to plead with fans to “think hard” before directing their anger towards her – and to be kind to all of the Love Island contestants.

Their post on her Instagram account read: “Great to see Lillie going into the villa and dropping the truth bomb.

“Our girl went into this experience hoping to find a connection with a guy who felt the same way, but unfortunately she didn’t find him.

“Just like every other islander Lillie was perfectly entitled to get to know everyone. Only one person has behaved badly towards Millie and it most definitely was not Lillie.

“The truth will always out . . . probably sooner than you think.

“Have your comments below as always, and that includes Millie’s fans – but think hard before typing and who you direct any hate towards.

“Better still, Don’t hate #bekind and remember that these are just a group of gorgeous young people enjoying the holiday experience of a lifetime for an entertainment TV show.

“They all want the same things, love, happiness, £50k, Insta followers and the PLT [Pretty Little Thing] deal . . .  you would be very naive to think otherwise. Have a great weekend everyone.”
