LOVE Island fans were left cringing last night as they witnessed what they believe was the “most awkward recoupling ever”.

In toe-curling scenes, Mary Bedford was fuming when Abigail Rawlings chose to partner with Dale Mehmet, leaving Sam Jackson her only choice to couple with.

She ranted under her breath: “What the f**k? I think I’m going to cry.”

Abi could be seen wringing her hands as Dale awkwardly sat beside her.

Barely able to contain her anger, Mary stood up and in a savage speech said: “Obviously this is not at all what I was expecting or hoping for because I do have a connection with another boy in the villa and I think they feel the same way.

“This is a bad situation for me to be in, however the boy I’m gonna couple up with is still a great guy. He’s really funny, we get on like a house on fire. My fellow northerner, Sam.”

Those watching at home couldn’t believe what they were watching and took to Twitter to comment on it.

One person wrote: “Am I the only one who found Mary’s speech so rude LMFAO if I was Sam I would remove myself from the villa #LoveIsland.”
