CELEBRITY Masterchef took a gruesome turn as comedian Munya Chawawa served up his meaty first dish.

The Celebrity MasterChef 2021 competitor was given a single mystery ingredient and tasked with creating a unique meal - yet it left host John Torode gagging.

Munya, 27, opted for a lamb-based dish but got his cooking times all wrong.

As he served the dish with a strip of mint sauce, roast potatoes and parsnip puree, he said: "Made to order.

"Extra rare, supremely rare actually.

This led Aussie chef John to quip: "I prefer my lamb not sashimi."

He replied: "Got it, committed to memory."

I prefer my lamb not sashimi."

Later, co-presenter Gregg Wallace chimed: "How did you feel when you got mint?"

In his typically witty style, Munya responded: "Well I feel like they were mint ingredients!"

Fans were equally bemused with his dish, with one taking to Twitter to write: "Why did Munya cook the lamb like that?"

Munya just needs to serve that lamb in Belgium or France as they would be fine with it,"

Another posted: "Munya's meat-handling problems… #celebritymasterchef."

One defended the star as they commented: ";Munya just needs to serve that lamb in Belgium or France as they would be fine with it."

The second dish saw the celebrity contestants, which also included comedienne Su Pollard and Blue singer Duncan James, tasked with creating Frikadeller, a Danish dish of pork and veal meatballs.

He quipped: "I'm just a guy who can't handle his meat," as co-star ex EastEnders actress Rita Simons left her meatballs under cooked.

Munya, failing to impress in the final banquet round, was then sadly sent home.
