LOVE Island's Liberty and Jake have quit Love Island.

With just three days to go until the final, reports are coming in that the former rock solid couple have left the famous villa.

Why did Jake and Liberty leave Love Island?

The couple decided to leave the TV villa after ending their seven-week romance and three days before the series finale.

A sneak peek following last night's cliffhanger ending (August 19, 2021) showed Jake and Liberty gathering their co-stars around the firepit to reveal they had "an announcement".

Now, it is being reported they really have quit the show for good.

A source told : "It was a really tough decision for the couple to make, but it felt like the right thing to do.

"They'd given it their all on camera and wanted to let their friends in other couples have a chance at winning.

"Saying goodbye was emotional for all the Islanders, as they've become so close, like family, but it won't be long before they're all reunited.

"It's not 100 per cent over for Jake and Liberty, there are still a lot of feelings involved, so who knows what will happen on the future."

Why did they split up?

In last night's show (August 19, 2021) Liberty broke down in tears as she dumped Jake and slammed their "fake" relationship before storming out of the villa.

The 21-year-old made the decision after seeing how happy Faye and Teddy were after their final date on the ITV2 show.

Earlier in the episode Jake mocked Liberty saying she gave him "the ick" - which turned out to be the final straw for the Brummie student.

She ripped off her mic and ran outside crying as Faye chased after her.

Water engineer Jake eventually made his way over to the girls and Liberty poured her heart out to him.

They then called it quits after Liberty questioned whether he ";loved her".

Will Jake and Liberty get back together?

Fans are conflicted about their break-up, with many hoping they will get back together.

They're convinced they spotted Liberty wearing Jake's bracelet once again - and have hopes they're back together.

One fan tweeted: "Jake and Liberty have connected bracelets and got back together, telling you now."

But others pointed out it could be Liberty's hairband and NOT the bracelet.

Many had also hoped they would rekindle their romance on their final date onboard a yacht in the Mediterranean sea - which will air tonight August 20).
