Love Island’s Biggs Chris reveals the REAL reason he split with Rebecca Gormley after 19 month romance
LOVE Island’s Biggs Chris has dumped his “party girl” girlfriend of 18 months after rows over starting a family.
The 29-year-old met model Rebecca Gormley, 23, on the first winter series of the ITV2 reality show in January 2020.
The pair moved in together with their families during lockdown as they split their time between Newcastle and Glasgow.
Biggs was forced to help look after Rebecca after she badly injured her shoulder falling off the bed.
He split his time between that and working on new music, enjoying studio sessions with Love Island star and chart sensation Wes Nelson.
He’s also been focused on building his dream home for Rebecca, with plans to move in later this year.
But their relationship hit the rocks this month as they argued about Rebecca’s partying.
Biggs exclusively told The Sun: “We broke up because we want different things.
“Rebecca’s more of a party girl, but I want a family and business and just to work work work.
“I want that ‘couple goals’ life where we both work hard together and build an amazing family.”
Biggs was left devastated last year when Rebecca spent the night at a hotel with ex-Islander Michael Griffiths after a boozy night out.
The pair immediately split, before reuniting weeks later after Rebecca worked to win Biggs back.
But the Glaswegian reality star insists it’s definitely over for good this time – and they’re better off as friends.
“We didn’t end badly at all,” he says.
“She’s my home girl. We facetime now and again.
“I have so much love for her and her family especially her mum we had soo much fun.
“I spent more time with Rebecca’s mum than I did her – she will tell you the same.”
He added: “I didn’t want this to happen obviously, because we were planning on buying a place together this year and had spoken about having kids together.
“But it had to happen. It’s the right thing to do for me and her.”
Rebecca has been putting on a brave face since the split as she partied on nights out in her Newcastle hometown.
Fans noticed they’d spent the Love Island finale apart, watching the series 7 finale separately on Monday.
Rebecca told her fans on Instagram last week: “I’ve been getting a lot of messages asking if I’m OK.
“I’m actually alright, I’m doing good.”
