Playing the quiz game as part of a celebrity special, 42-year-old Mathew claimed the question he was given was "not clear".

Mat was joined by rugby player Danny Care, model Jodie Kidd and comedian Al Murray on the panel as they tried to raise money for charity.

He started off well, banking an impressive £7,000 in his cash builder round, before opting for a high offer of £40,000.

But it turned sour when Bradley, 61, asked the question: "What was the first London team to win the League and Cup double?"

Flashing up as the potential answers were Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea.

After deliberating, the star opted for Chelsea - but grimaced as the correct answer was revealed as Tottenham Hotspur in the episode which originally aired in December 2017.

Bradley then asked Mat: "Who do you support?"

Clearly embarrassed, Mat admitted: "Tottenham."

But in an attempt to redeem himself, he complained: "It doesn't say Premiership."

But Bradley explained: "Well, that wasn't the Premiership then, it was just like the FA league you know?"

Not letting up, Mat replied: "Well, that could have been clearer."

As the audience laughed, Mathew added: "In fact, I think we should go again - I think I should get another one, because it's not clear that, is it?"

Supporting his team mate funny man Al shouted: "No, that's not clear!"

I think I should get another one"

Teasing Mathew, Bradley then lifted his hand to his ear to pretend the subject was being debated by producers in the background.

He said: "Hang on, actually… no," causing the whole studio to break down with laughter.

Unfortunately for Mat, chaser Paul had selected the correct answer which meant he was out of the game.

Bradley commented: "Four from home - ouch."

The remaining team mates went on to get through to the final chase with £90,000, but the trio were unable to beat the Sinnerman.
