Nick Knowles wraps up warm as he works on Big House Clear Out in Suffolk
NICK Knowles made sure to keep himself rugged up while filming Big House Clear Out.
The presenter, 58, who is best known as the host of DIY SOS, is back on TV with a new Channel 5 show, which sees him help families declutter after their homes become overrun with stuff.
Nick was in Lowestoft, Suffolk where he dressed in a grey turtleneck and matching blazer despite it still being summer.
He completed the look with black jeans as he was spotted filming a piece to camera outside a family home in the seaside town.
Nick filmed walking out of the front door while speaking to the camera and was seen smiling between takes.
His outfit proved a little to warm for the August temperatures as the TV star carried his customised dual fan unit to cool him down.
Nick was also quick to pull off the blazer between takes and chatted to the crew.
He later got hands on as he helped the show's guests chain up a skip on the back of a lorry, presumably full with clutter from their home they had agreed to get rid of.
After the guests have parted with the clutter, Nick's team goes in to redecorate their homes.
“The other part if it is we make a deal, you get rid of at least 50 percent of your belongings and I’ll bring in one of the best designers - he used to do Changing Rooms, last 15 years he’s been behind the scenes designer on all of the SOS’ - and he does an amazing job on coming up with storage solutions and everything," Nick said on BBC breakfast last week.
However, a number of viewers quickly noticed how similar the format was to Stacey Solomon's BBC pilot, Sort Your Life Out, which aired earlier this year.
Taking to Twitter, one wrote: "Why has @channel5_tv and nick knowles done a blatant rip off of Stacey Solomons show from bbc."
Nick has previously acknowledged the similarities between the two shows, writing in response to someone on Twitter: "Well it’s very similar subject matter as here are many shows in this field at the moment.
“But I hope you’ll see differences that will make it worth a watch.”
Stacey, 31, then replied: "I can't wait to watch it!"
The TV star also revealed the very emotional reactions they got from guests on the Channel 5 show.
“We’re spending a lot more time in our homes as you explained and I think that’s brought to people’s attention how much stuff they’ve actually gathered," Nick explainedon BBC Breakfast.
“But also we talk about people, there are lots of reasons why peoples houses gather clutter, lot of psychological and emotional reasons.
“You attach memories to things, we’ve all got pictures of our kids on the fridge but some people keep every picture that was ever made, you can get into a psychological loop.”
“It’s emotional,” Nick added. “They get angry with us.

“During the process of decluttering, they get angry with each other, they get angry with themselves, they get angry with us.
“It’s actually quite a tough thing to do. But you’re talking about 30, 40, years of learnt behaviour that you’re trying to break.”
