'EXCUSE ME?!'

A Place in the Sun’s Ben Hillman left reeling by guest’s VERY specific demand – but did she go too far?

A PLACE in the Sun host Ben Hillman was left outraged by one guest's particularly fussy request.

Presenter Ben took couple Maxine and Cormack house hunting in France in the Channel 4 hit property show.

As the newlyweds searched for the dream home, Maxine was distracted by a property's features and was more focused on where her shoes will go.

Ben informed viewers that the couple were looking to buy a holiday home around the picturesque market town of Riberac.

The pair told Ben they wanted to move to France since they had been together.

They were looking for somewhere to accommodate their four boys as well as Maxine’s shoe collection.

As if her demand for shoe space wasn't enough, Ben also had the challenge to find a property with just a £105,000 budget.

Ben amazed the couple with his first property which boasted two bedrooms, with the opportunity to add a third bedroom.

Ben exclaimed: “It has outdoor space, it has a plunge pool!"

The master bedroom had an en-suite with a view of the fields looking down onto the town.

However, Maxine couldn't resist commenting: “One wee thing, where would I put my shoes?”

Ben was shocked at Maxine's picky request and replied: "Excuse me but have you not noticed the wardrobe here!

"Which I quite like because it’s an alcove, so you can just pull the curtain across, I reckon you can get more than 30 pairs in there.

“You haven’t seen the whole place yet, have you? There’s plenty of places to squirrel lots of shoes in here and there.”

In total Ben showed the couple around five houses.

The second property was on the market for £125,000, which was over their budget, but they were told the agent would consider a lower offer.

They put in an offer of £105,000, which was accepted.

Eventually, Ben achieved his goal of finding the newly married couple their perfect home - with enough shoe space for Maxine.
