AN A Place in the Sun couple shut down Danni Menzies after a 'characterless' property tour took a tense turn.

Thursday's edition of the Channel 4 show saw Danni meet Neil and Linda from Lanarkshire, who wanted to find a four-bedroom property in Antequera, Spain.

They had a budget of £140,000, which could stretch to £150,000 for the right property.

However, the first two properties didn't fall into that category, and were ruled out due to their space inside and location.

Property three was a serious contender, with the couple immediately falling in love with it, but Danni hoped property four would impress them even more.

Despite it being ready to move into and no renovation works required, Linda told Danni immediately: "I am not keen about the view.”

Once inside, she was just as unimpressed and said: "I’m not loving it. I’ve got no passion for it.

"There is no character in this property. It’s just a new build.”

Property five was as much of a dud as the previous one, with Linda saying within moments of stepping inside: “It’s not winning me over.”

She begrudgingly agreed to look at one of the bedrooms but her mind couldn't be changed with Neil saying: "It’s not a contender."

“So, we’re writing it off, right here, right now?” Danni asked. “So do we need to see any more of this one?”

Linda replied simply: "No."

When it came to decision time, Linda and Neil said they loved property number three but wanted more time to think about their options and didn't put in any offers.
