A Place in the Sun’s Jean Johansson reveals the ‘toughest’ presenters with NO patience for time-wasters
A PLACE in the Sun’s Jean Johansson has revealed the ‘toughest’ presenters with NO patience for time-wasters.
Jean joined the Channel 4 show in 2018 alongside the likes of Danni Menzies, Scarlette Douglas, Laura Hamilton and Jonnie Irwin.
The presenters often have their work cut out, trying to find picky house hunters their dream home.
And speaking exclusively to The Sun Online, Jean admitted some of her co-presenters are less patient than she is.
She said: "I think for me, I'm that kind of person so the house hunters are lucky [if they get me], I think some of the other presenters may not be so patient!
"I always think, whether it's £20,000 or £100,000 it's real money, it's not Monopoly money so if people are unsure or reluctant to hand over or are changing their minds, I've got to stay with them because what they're doing is huge.
"If you're filming a show for a week and then buying a property at the end, it's pretty big.
"So I just take a deep breath, I'm always on their side, and that's what gets me through it."
Jean did admit she sometimes has to bite her tongue, adding: "I'm on their side but yes, I have my moments where I could really lose it with the couples but nine times out of 10 we're getting on really well off camera so I sort of understand where they're coming from."
As for who has less patience than her, Jean diplomatically replied: "I would say Laura and Jonnie are a little bit tougher.
"They're very experienced and are a little bit tougher than me, so if you get Laura or Jonnie hosting your show you might be challenged a little bit more."
She added with a laugh: "I think out of all the presenters, I think I'm the most patient."
"AN IMPORTANT DAY IN BROADCASTING"
Jean will be hosting a special edition of the programme on Friday as part of Channel 4's Black to Front initiative.
She is joined by Croydon couple Clement and Tracey-Anne in Marbella, Spain, in the hopes of finding their dream holiday home.
Jean said: "I am delighted to be part of the Black to Front project, championing Black talent on and off screen.
"This is an important day in broadcasting and I’m extremely excited to be hosting this very special episode of A Place in the Sun.”
The Black to Front episode of A Place in the Sun airs at 3pm on Friday, September 10 on Channel 4.
