EMMERDALE star Susan Cookson has a real-life connection to an iconic Coronation Street villain.
The actress - who plays Wendy Posner in the ITV soap - had viewers distracted this week as they realised they had seen her before on the rival soap.
In last night’s episode it emerged how Wendy had faked being a nurse for decades.
She had helped ex Russ by taking the blame for one of his drug deals.
Wendy was imprisoned for 12 months for stealing methadone so the evil abuser could sell it on.
She was stripped of her nursing licence and struck off the register - but after being released married Russ.
Wendy then managed to use her new married name to register as a nurse again - and work in the career she had studied so hard for.
And despite it being another bombshell from Wendy - who’s son Lee raped Victoria Sugden - fans were distracted by the realisation that Wendy wasn’t the first soap character for Susan to play.
They realised she had also played evil Corrie villain Callum Logan’s mum Marion on the cobbles.
The actress played Marion between 2015 and 2016, before joining Emmerdale and then being replaced on the cobbles by Kerry Peers in 2019 and 2020.
Marion, like Wendy, defended her evil son - and demanded to be part of her grandchildren’s lives after his death.
Viewers got the two shows mixed up, with one tweeting: "Wendy: 'Oh boo hoo! Oh boo hoo! My poor son Callum from #Corrie!'"
A second said: "Blags my head that Wendy on Emmerdale played Callum's mum on Corrie.
