Kicking off the show, the TV favourite shared his joy at being on the show’s new green sofa, quipping: “It’s so lovely to be back, and I thought I’d celebrate by dressing as the new sofas!

“It’s quite exciting to be back – and thank you for having me back as well.”

A third shared: “Oh what a lovely surprise to turn on #TheOneShow and see the lovely @Rylan back on our screens!! WELCOME BACK!!”

One more remarked: “Awwwww Rylan yay!! Wonderful!! Very happy to see him back on my TV.”

Rylan took a big step back from the public eye this summer following his split from husband of six years, Dan Neal.

He returned to his Radio 2 show earlier this month, and was back on Twitter yesterday.

Speaking about his marriage break-up in an emotional statement at the time, Rylan told concerned fans: “I have made a number of mistakes which I deeply regret and have inevitably led to the breakdown of our marriage.

“I have taken time away from work as I am not in a good place at the moment and am seeking help.

“I am trying to take each day at a time and would like to say thank you to everyone for their support and for respecting our privacy at this time.”

Last month, however, The Sun revealed that Rylan and Dan appear to be rekindling their romance.
