Brett Goldstein channels Ted Lasso’s Roy Kent with VERY sweary Emmy’s speech
TED Lasso star Brett Goldstein channelled his on-screen alter ego Roy Kent as he accepted the Emmy for outstanding supporting actor in a comedy series - with an expletive filled speech.
The shocked 41-year-old was bleeped out as he took to the stage last night, telling the audience: “So this speech is going to be f***ing short. I was very, very specifically told I'm not allowed to swear. So, um…”

And just like his famously sweary character - former footballer Roy - he then launched into an expletive-ridden speech.
Once he had composed himself, Brett - who helped write the lovable yet scary coach's character - made sure he thanked everyone else involved.
He said: “To my teammates that I'm nominated with and all my team. This cast made me sick, they're so good.
“And lastly, I want to say to Jason [Sudeikis], Bill [Lawrence], Brendan [Hunt] and Joe Kelly, thank you for creating this show, and providing me to be part of it.
“It has been one of the greatest honors, privileges, and privileges, I just said that twice. But it's a double privilege. It's the most privileged privilege and pleasures of my life.”
Lifting up his trophy, he added: “Well this is the f***ing icing on the cake.”

The feel-good football series Ted Lasso was a big winner of the night, being crowned outstanding comedy series.
In one of the night's least surprising moments, the show's star Jason Sudeikis won outstanding comedy actor for his portrayal of a folksy American football coach parachuted in to manage a struggling English Premier League club.
Outstanding supporting actress in a comedy series went to a delighted Hannah Waddingham for playing Premier League club owner Rebecca Welton.
The star, 47, was overjoyed upon taking to the stage and tearfully exclaimed, "Jesus Christ on a bike" as she clutched her first-ever Emmy statuette.
She paid tribute to co-star and fellow nominee Juno Temple, saying she wished she could share the prize with her.
Ted Lasso is a sitcom about a US football coach who is hired to train fictional Premier League footie team AFC Richmond.
Jason Sudeikis plays Ted Lasso, a small-time American college football coach from Kansas who has no experience coaching the English game.
His character is also going through a divorce, making things even more dramatic.
