How to apply for Gogglebox and how much you’ll get paid to be on the show
IMAGINE if your job involved just watching telly all week, AND you got famous at the same time.
Well that dream could come true if you get picked to star on Channel 4's Gogglebox.
How can I apply for Gogglebox?
Unlike other Channel 4 shows, there is no application process to apply for Gogglebox.
Instead producers from the show search for families and friends themselves, to be on the hit series.
The TV show’s creator Stephen Lambert said in 2015: "Everybody on Gogglebox has been found and persuaded to be on the show and I think that's the key to why they are likeable and why the show works, because we get to know these people.”
"We've never advertised for people on Gogglebox."

All hope is not lost as it is rumoured that the Channel 4 scouts search the country near and far to find the best families - both charismatic and dynamic - for the show.
So you never know when or where you might be spotted.
What type of people are Gogglebox bosses looking to bring in?
Executive producer Victoria Ray previously revealed they search for families and friends who don’t “try hard” to be funny, but instead it comes very naturally.
Talking of what the show looks for for, she told : “We pick people who don’t want to be on telly.”

She went on to explain how they usually pick people who aren't “fame hungry” and don’t see themselves as TV personalities.
She explained: “We like people who are charismatic and engaging.
“It’s good when they have no filter because then they don't second-guess themselves when they’re talking,”
“We basically want people that you warm to and want to see in your living rooms.”
Do you get paid to be on Gogglebox?
While Channel 4 have never confirmed how much the stars’ earn, The Sun previously revealed each family is paid a monthly allowance of £1,500.
It’s reported that all family members split the fee at their own discretion.
Not only do they get an allowance they also get treated to a takeaway of their choice during filming.
Although it sounds easy, Goggleboxers do actually have to get the job done.
They are expected to commit to 12 hour of filming across the week which is split into two six-hour shifts.
