While Johannes and John are thrilled to be paired up, Johannes admitted in a chat with The Sun's TV Mag for its 80-page Strictly Special that John could have a habit that will become a bit wearing.

He said: "I’ve got to be honest, he did say that he thinks he’s going to drive me bonkers.

"We’ve just sat outside for a few minutes waiting to talk to you and he hasn’t stopped counting and clicking."

However Johannes, 34, added: "It’s nice to have someone who is so determined and wants this.

"I think it’s lovely and he will go far if he keeps up that attitude and I can work with that attitude. We want to win this thing."

As for their feelings on becoming part of Strictly history, John, 32, said: "I feel very proud. I just think it’s a great step forward.

"If there are kids questioning who they might become in life or who they are, they might not feel the need to question it all.

"They might just think: 'Hey, that’s cool and I’m comfortable with who I am.' I hope that is the outcome, even if we just inspire one little boy or little girl, that’s all that matters for me."

Johannes added: "Of course, Strictly Come Dancing has come so far. The world is watching and that’s a beautiful thing.

"I feel like people will see themselves for the first time in this whole thing, and it’s important that people feel like that when they watch the show because it’s meant to be for everyone.

"I am proud to be here and I’m happy that it’s John. It couldn’t have been a better person."
