The series is out now on Netflix and involves players fighting to the death for a huge cash prize.
What is Squid Game?
A mysterious invitation to join a mysterious and deadly survival game is sent to people at risk who are in dire need of money.
456 participants from all walks of life are locked into a secret location where they play games in order to win 45.6 billion won (£28 million).
Every game is a Korean traditional children's game such as Red Light, Green Light, but the consequence of losing is death.

Who's in the Squid Game cast?
The main cast includes:
- Lee Jung-jae as Seong Gi-hun (No. 456) - A chauffeur and a gambling addict, he lives with his mother and struggles to financially support his daughter. He participates in the Game to settle his many debts.
- Park Hae-soo as Cho Sang-woo (No. 218) - The head of the investment team at a securities company, he was a junior to Gi-hun, and was a gifted student who entered Seoul National University, but is now wanted by the police for stealing money from his clients.
- Oh Yeong-su as Oh Il-nam (No. 001) - An elderly man with a brain tumor who prefers playing the Game to waiting to die on the outside.
- HoYeon Jung as Kang Sae-byeok (No. 067) - A North Korean defector who enters the Game to pay for a broker that can find and retrieve her surviving family members from the country.
- Heo Sung-tae as Jang Deok-su (No. 101) - A gangster who enters the Game to settle his massive gambling debts.
- Anupam Tripathi as Abdul Ali (No. 199) - A foreign worker from Pakistan who enters the Game to provide for his young family after his employer refuses to pay him for months.
- Kim Joo-ryoung as Han Mi-nyeo (No. 212) - A mysterious and manipulative woman who claims to be a poor single mother

Squid Game ending explained
WARNING: Spoilers from the end of Squid Game
By the end of the sixth game, protagonist Seong Gi-hun (Lee Jung-jae) emerges victorious.
He squares up with childhood friend-turned-nemesis Cho Sang-woo (Park Hae-soo) in a bloody round of squid game and knocks down his opponent.
But, steps before winning, Gi-hun asks to vote on terminating the game, assuming that Sang-woo will side with him and create the necessary majority to end the whole tournament.
But Sang-woo stabs himself in the neck and dies, letting Gi-hun win.

“There’s been so much pressure, so much demand and so much love for a second season," he told the media outlet.
