Strictly’s Craig Revel Horwood takes swipe at sacked Brendan Cole as he reveals failed attempt at mending rift
STRICTLY Come Dancing judge Craig Revel Horwood has taken a swipe at his rival Brendan Cole.
The dancers feuded as co-stars on the BBC show before Brendan was sacked in 2018.
Now Craig has admitted his attempt at mending their rift didn't exactly go to plan.
"We did lock horns" Craig admitted on Kate Thornton's podcast White Wine Question Time.
"I invited him around two years ago to my house. I hadn't spoken to him for years. I thought 'wouldn't it be nice to see Brendan, just to see if he's working...' "
Kate laughed, telling him: "What a b***h'."
Craig added: "Oh god this is going out to people isn't it. Anyway he had an electric car. He was showing that off.
"We hated each other."
Craig was playing a game with pal Kate as he tried to guess whether the nasty digs he'd made about famous people were true or not.
Reading out the first one, Kate said: "I really dislike him, we don't see eye to eye.
"He brings up the most ridiculous arguments.
"Yes, we're all entitled to our opinions but some opinions suck and his generally do," she ended the quote.
"Well, I genuinely believe that as well, now I know who it's about," Craig responded.
Brendan was axed from Strictly after waltzing with Camilla at Buckingham Palace.
BBC chiefs and show judges were raging after Brendan, 41, ignored a briefing and asked the Duchess to dance on a festive special.
Craig was left raging that the cocky Kiwi took matters into his own hands by asking the Duchess of Cornwall to dance.
A Strictly source told The Sun at the time: “It was the last straw, they saw he couldn’t be controlled.”
He ignored weeks of careful preparation and strict rules to steal the limelight during filming of the show’s Christmas special.
It was the last straw for bosses, who had tired of his alleged arrogance and diva behaviour behind the scenes.
