Kate Garraway reveals new look on Good Morning Britain after suffering from ‘inflamed eyes’ at the end of a tough week

KATE Garraway revealed a new look on Good Morning Britain today after suffering from "inflamed eyes".

The mum-of-two presented the ITV breakfast show in a pair of specs, saying her eyes were "really sore".

Her co-host Ben Shephard said: "I like you in glasses, as you know!"

Kate - who is also a carer for her husband Derek Draper - explained she'd had a tough week and her eyes had paid the price.

She said: "What it is I think is I've had a few really long days recently, and I always wear contact lenses."

Helpfully, the TV star had GMB show medic Dr Amir Khan sitting beside her, who explained: "If you've been wearing contact lenses there is a risk of a scratch on the eye, or inflammation of the eye.

"You may need drops to stop an infection getting in. But see me later."

Viewers also noticed Kate's new look today, as one tweeted: "Is there something different about Kate?" while another wrote: "Kate needs to push her glasses up closer to her eyes or get smaller frames".

Kate sported a different pair of glasses when she dressed up as Elton John earlier this month.

The 54-year-old swapped her usual frock for a white jumpsuit and feathered blazer as she headed to London's Leicester Square.

Dressing up for a charity fundraiser Kate channelled Elton in pearl necklaces and an impressive pair of glitter-covered boots.
