JULIA Bradbury’s sister Gina has given fans an update on her recovery following her mastectomy and reconstructive surgery last week.
The presenter, 51, was diagnosed with breast cancer just last month and was rushed into surgery.
Speaking today on Good Morning Britain, Gina said: She's fine, she’s recovering.”
Gina was waiting in the car when her sister got the shocking diagnosis.
She explained to Richard Madeley and Susanna Reid: “I was in the car, I drove her to see the consultant and she was longer than expected.
“Within a week she was diagnosed. It was very fast.”
Discussing her sister’s decision to share her story, she said: “It was her choice, we are very strong willed, she just does what she wants to do.
“She thought it would be helpful for other women to learn about her journey.”
Julia, who co-presented the BBC One programme Countryfile from 2004 to 2014, found a lump in her breast last year, which proved to be a cluster of benign micro-cysts.
The mother-of-three revealed has had her left breast removed, along with the six centimetre tumour.
