LANZA-GROTTY

A Place in the Sun’s Jasmine Harman red-faced as buyer bursts out laughing at villa ‘that looks like a garage’

A PLACE in the Sun presenter Jasmine Harman was lost for words when a potential buyer compared her choice of villa to a glorified garage.

The Channel 4 show headed to Lanzarote in hopes of finding Carol and her daughter-in-law Donna their dream holiday home.

Presenter Jasmine Harman questioned if the property was 'just Ok?'

Presenter and property expert Jasmine had her work cut out for her as the guests only had a budget of £150,000 to work with.

Wearing a yellowy-orange sundress, Jasmine thought she was onto something with the first property as it ticked their criteria of having a pool, at least two bedrooms, and also had its own small private terrace.

What more could they want?

Situated in the centre of Puerto del Carmen and on the market for £152,991, Carol immediately said "It's OK for size I think," when looking at the pool.

"OK? Is it only OK?," Jasmine said, not quite sure what to do with the lacklustre response.

Elaborating, Carol said: "Yeah, no, it's good for size then and there are sunbeds all around."

Still in shock, Jasmine air quoted "it's OK," or "it's fine" as Carol continued to analyse the pool and how the shape wasn't quite to her liking.

Trying to save the sale, Jasmine immediately returned with: "But, the kids would love this, wouldn't they?"

Agreeing with Jasmine and possibly warming to the property: "No, they would. I mean, this as a pool, it's big enough for them."

Moving onto the property to the side of the pool, eagerly Jasmine said: "The property that we're looking at is this one just here.

"So, it's a bungalow, two bedrooms. What do you think of looking at it from the outside?"

Chiming in for the first time, Donna said: "I think it looks nice."

"It looks like a garage!" Carol said as she burst out laughing.

Donna stuck to her guns, commenting on how the villa's location would be "ideal" for the whole family.

Sadly, Carol's critical eye was quick to comment once inside the property.

It was definitely a no for Carol: "I just think the whole place is too small."

After seeing five properties Carol and Donna were split between two properties and ended the show on wanting to come back and look again for more properties.
