Real Housewives Tanya Bardsley quits show after six years after behind the scenes battle
REAL Housewives of Cheshire star Tanya Bardsley has quit the show after six years.
The 40-year-old, who has appeared in the hit franchise since it started, has made the decision to walk after a behind the scenes battle with health and anxiety.
Just two months ago the mum-of-four worried her family and friends when she collapsed during a shoot due to overworking.
A source said: "Tanya has been on Real Housewives since it first aired, but she’s made up her mind to leave.
“She’ll finish the current series and appear in the reunion show but nothing more than that.
“Tanya has been really struggling with her anxiety recently, it got bad over lockdown and she just really wants to concentrate on herself.
“Her recent collapse really scared her and she knows she can’t continue juggling so many plates.
“She loves the show but it is really stressful at times and it just feels like the right time for her to walk away.”
Speaking at the time of her collapse, Tanya revealed her husband – former Manchester United player Phil Bardsley – was making sure she took some time off.
She told fans: “One minute in the studio the next minute in a ambulance, I collapsed from stress from over working and basically trying to be perfect in every area of my life, mum, wife, business woman, carer for poorly relatives [sic].
"My brain and body shut down as a warning, I’m having a few days off my phone so sorry to any1 if I don’t reply to messages and emails @phil_bardsley is forcing me to rest.”
Tanya has openly spoken about her battle with depression over the years and was show having therapy and talking about taking medication on the show.
Her battle with anxiety has risen in tandem with her time on the Real Housewives and she previously admitted the filming the explosive reunion episode each series can be the "worst day" on set.
Tanya shot to fame in the early noughties as a lads' mag favourite and was included in FHM's 100 Sexiest Women in the World in the years 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006 and 2007.
