Naughty Boy turned down I’m A Celeb last year to help care for dementia suffering mum
MUSIC producer Naughty Boy turned down I’m A Celebrity last year to help care for his mum.
The chart-topper, 36, lives with dementia sufferer Zahida and her carer but he could not bear to leave them during the 2020 lockdowns.
The hitmaker, whose real name is Shahid Khan, is back for a second shot at the ITV reality show — and he says he wants to become King of the Castle this year for his mother.
He admitted: “I was gutted I wasn’t able to do the show last year.
“We were in and out of lockdown and, with so much anxiety, it just didn’t feel like the right time.
“I had to understand dementia in a different way.”
Naughty Boy, one of the contestants at Gwrych Castle in Conwy, has packed himself a pillow with his mum’s face as his luxury item.
Louise Minchin should not struggle in I’m A Celebrity’s trials as she handled dangerous snakes as a girl.
