Friday night’s instalment of the Channel 4 show saw the cast cover their eyes as Boris's rambling tangent played out on their TV screens.

The PM told the country's top chiefs in Newcastle this week: 'Peppa Pig World is very much my kind of place'

Earlier this week, the PM hailed “genius” Peppa Pig World as “my kind of place” after a visit with his family last weekend - in a bizarre speech to business chiefs.

Boris recalled his recent visit to the amusement park, where he was seen with his son Wilf and wife Carrie enjoying a day out.

They were spotted on the Grampy Rabbit’s Sailing Club boat ride at the park in Hampshire over the weekend.

And the PM told the country's top chiefs in Newcastle: "Yesterday I went, as we all must, to Peppa Pig World.

"I love it. Peppa Pig World is very much my kind of place.

“It has very safe streets, discipline in schools, heavy emphasis on new mass transit systems - even if they are a bit stereotypical about Daddy Pig.”

Viewers were quick to comment on his bizarre rant, with many taking to Twitter to air their thoughts.

Attached with a picture of Gogglebox’s Mary Killen with her head in her hands, someone wrote: "Just one of the Gogglebox reactions to Boris Johnson’s Peppa Pig meltdown."

Someone else said: "My eight-year-old son has just asked what’s wrong with Borish Johnson regarding his Peppa Pig World speech."

Another fan, meanwhile, could barely believe what they were seeing and penned: "Just put Gogglebox and I'm lost for words.

“Why is Boris Johnson talking about Peppa Pig World? What an absolute melon he is."

News of Boris’s meltdown comes as the controversial PM vowed that tax cuts are coming soon - as he scrambled to get his wobbly week back on track.

The PM told a room full of billionaire Tory donors last night: “We will cut your taxes soon.

His spokesman yesterday came out swinging against claims BoJo has lost his mojo, telling reporters he is physically “well” after suffering from a cold last week.

And No10 insisted Mr Johnson “is very much focused on delivering for the public”.
