CARNAGE is certainly the right word to use in The Grand Tour's latest special - with cars being flung around and smashed up left, right and centre.
Carnage A Trois sees Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May dive into the bizarre world of French car culture.
Early on, one vintage French car - a Citreon 2CV - bites the dust when Jeremy decides to drop it from a helicopter 500 feet above the ground to test its suspension.
The trio watch as the vehicle crumples on impact, before giving a wry shrug and moving onto the next French-style experiment.
After driving a variety of different cars and testing them in various outlandish ways, the presenters agreed that the French had produced some excellent cars over the years.
But in their eyes, the Citreon C3 Pluriel is not one of them, and so they decided to send one of them back to its homeland in spectacular fashion.
As they stood atop the white cliffs of Dover with France just across the channel, Jeremy explained they hate it "partly because it's horrid but because of it's stupid roof."
James then showed viewers how you have to physically remove the framework to turn the car into a convertible.

He said: "Now you probably think the roof has folded away cleverly into the back of the car somewhere like it does in a normal convertible, but it hasn't.
"It's right here, you have to take it off entirely, so if you get up in the morning and think 'well it's sunny, I think I'll take the roof off' and then you go somewhere and it starts raining, what do you do?
"Similarly what if you set off and think 'oh the sun's come out, I'll take the roof off', where do you put it? It is genuine French idiocy."
With that, the trio set about attaching the car to a giant 60 foot catapult with the aid of a crane, a tractor and lots of rope.
Jeremy asked his co-stars: "So the car, when I pull this, loops round and then goes to France?"
The car was then released and went somersaulting through the air, making the presenters laugh.
However, that soon stopped when the car landed through the roof of a farm out building, carnage complete.
