Jeremy Clarkson slams Paddy McGuinness and Question of Sport – insisting ‘I had no idea who he was’
THE Grand Tour host Jeremy Clarkson has hit back at his Top Gear successor Paddy McGuinness - insisting he has no idea who he is.
Paddy took aim at Jeremy, 61, after he criticised the rebooted Question of Sport - which the 48-year-old hosts.
Paddy, who now presents Top Gear with Freddie Fintoff and Chris Harris - claimed their version of the motoring show has better ratings than Jeremy’s.
But speaking to The Sun, Jeremy said: “I didn’t know who the man hosting Question of Sport was. I thought, ‘What the f**k am I watching? What is this programme?’
“A large number of people who I didn’t know were all shouting, ‘What has happened to Question of Sport? And then it turned out the man in the middle of it all does Top Gear.”
The feud started when Jeremy posed the rhetorical question online: “What on earth has happened to A Question of Sport?”
But Paddy hit back saying: “The same thing that’s happened to Top Gear JC. New personnel, bigger ratings. Love you.”
Mentioning Top Gear instantly enraged the legion of fans who boycotted the BBC show since Clarkson presented it with James May and Richard Hammond.

And they even piled in on A Question of Sport which has actually seen its ratings plunge since the days when Sue Barker presented it and it only had sports stars as guests.
Jeremy added to The Sun: “It was only later that I realised that Martin McGuinness, oh no he’s the IRA. Paddy McGuinness.
I read a piece about him the other day, and he seems a nice enough chap but Christ, Question of Sport… it’s a long way from Bill Beaumont isn’t it?
“I don’t understand. Why would you want to change the format? It was so good.”
Paddy took over the reins after much-loved host Sue Barker was fired from the show earlier this year following 24 years of loyal service.
Bosses also replaced team captains Matt Dawson and Phil Tufnell with Sam Quek and Ugo Monye.
