The 74-year-old is shown laying back in bed topless, sporting his thick trademark moustache and thick wiry mullet.

He can be seen gazing into the distance with a duvet cover draped across him from the waist down.

While holding a cigarette he also appears to be nibbling his knuckles in a seductive manner.

One fan replied to the actor on Facebook and said: "If this doesn't shout '80s porno, then I don't know what does."

Echoing their comments, someone else joked: "Was this taken when you was a pornstar?"

Paul - part of the iconic Chuckle Brothers duo alongside late brother Barry Chuckle - added the image into a Christmas card frame to the delight of his fans.

With a career spanning half a century, the pair have popped up in all kinds of shows.

Their career was launched by an appearance on the talent show Opportunity Knocks in 1967.

From 1996-1998 they presented the children's game show To Me, To You named after their signature catchphrase, which was set on a desert island.

Following their inaugural performance, they featured on a number of other variety shows before securing their own show Chuckle Vision, the kids' programme that made them famous.

The show was one of the longest-running children's programmes on the BBC continuing for 22 years from 1987 to 2009.

Just over three years ago, Paul released a statement revealing his heartache at Barry's passing.

He said: "I've not just lost my brother, I've lost my theatrical partner of many, many years and my very best friend.

"The family would like to express their thanks to the many people who have been fans of the Chuckle Brothers and they know that they will share in part the great, great loss they feel."
