Why wasn't Whoopi Goldberg on The View?
On September 5, 2023, Whoppi was missing from her usual seat on The View on the first day of season 27.
Her absence came amid a series of health battles, which is why fans were worried when she did not appear on air.
While there might've been concerns, fans were informed that she was "on the mend" of another Covid diagnosis.
"As you can see, Whoopi is not here today," co-host Joy Behar said during the show's broadcast.
"She has Covid," she then revealed.
Joy went on to tell the audience that she is "on the mend" and will "probably be back this week."
"Sorry she is not here for those of you who were looking forward to seeing her," Joy added.
Whoppi later returned to her role as the show's moderator on September 11, 2023, alongside co-hosts Joy, Sara Haines, Ana Navarro, Sunny Hostin, and Alyssa Farah Griffin.
