Coronation Street viewers convinced they’ve solved identity of Ted’s mystery grandson after car crash death
FOLLOWING his short stint on Monday's Coronation Street, Ted has been the source of numerous theories.
Fans swarmed over to Twitter to guess the identity of the pensioner's grandson.
Ted's character was introduced when Faye Windass (Ellie Leach) was driving a tipsy Emma Brooker (Alexandra Mardell) home after a drunken New Year's Eve night out.
Emma has been giving Faye driving lessons to help her adapt to daily life outside of prison.
Although she had received a three-year sentence after attacking Adam Barlow, Faye was released on bail at the end of 2021, thus spending only nine months of her sentence behind bars.
This means that the youngster is walking on thin ice and needs to stay out of trouble.

But the ice keeps thinning: in a Coronation Street episode aired on Monday, Emma and Faye run over Ted and panic ensues.
Ted was crossing the road when his shopping bag split open and rolled away from him.
Things seemed to settle down when the frail pensioner assured the pair that he is fine, insisting he did not need to go to hospital, and got on with his day.
However the accident proves to be fatal when Faye and Emma check up on Ted in his flat, only to find that he has died.
Moments after the elderly man's death, Corrie viewers took to social media, theorising that the grandson he had spoke about whilst being taken home by Faye and Emma could be related to a Weatherfield resident.
When Faye and Emma helped him away from the main road, Ted mentioned that his grandson "John" made a habit of visiting him each week to check up on him.

According to viewers of the ITV soap, "John" is related to Curtis Delamere (Sam Retford).
Coronation Street viewers have claimed that Ted's grandson could well be Emma's ex-fiancé himself and that John may be his real name.
Heartthrob Curtis left the ITV soap during the hour-long episode aired on New Year's Eve (Friday, December 31, 2021), after being caught up by his many lies.
"Is Curtis going to be the grandson they keep mentioning?", questioned a viewer on Twitter.
"I have a feeling Ted is related to Curtis? Maybe his grandad?", theorised another.
A third viewer chimed in: "I bet the old man is Curtis' grandfather (...) Anything is possible."
Ted was portrayed by Duggie Brown who already has a connection with a soap legend off-screen.
If fans are proved to be correct, Ted's could not only cause legal trouble for Faye and Emma but also emotional turmoil for the latter as she cut ties wit Curtis, unable to forgive his lies.

She has since been trying to get her life back on track.
But as he has not been killed off, Curtis could reappear in the cobbles, perhaps even under the name John.
