Celebrity Coach Trip’s Paul Danan claims show was so ‘brutal’ he needed therapy after elimination
CELEBRITY Coach Trip's Paul Danan has claimed the show was so 'brutal' he needed therapy after his elimination.
The former Hollyoaks star is taking part in the latest series of the E4 show and is on the coach with fellow celebs including Birds of a Feather stars Linda Robson and Lesley Joseph and Geordie Shore's Sophie Kasaei and James Tindale.
The show regularly sees pairs voted off the coach by the other participants, and Paul has admitted he found the process "brutal".
The 43-year-old said of what happened after he was voted off: "I had to get a bit of counselling. It taps into a lot of stuff – like rejection. It’s brutal.
He added: "You’ve got to be thick-skinned. They’re not your mates.”
The celebrities travelled around Portugal and Paul's exit will air later in the series.
Speaking on his podcast The Morn-ing After, he said it was just like being dumped.
He explained: "They do just leave you. There’s a producer who says: ‘OK, what time do you want your flight home?’”

In one of the first episodes, Paul was seen screwing his face up when stand-up Matt Richardson and actor and presenter Will Best shared embarrassing stories.
Matt said: "I once pooed myself in a Year 13 English lesson."
Will then added his own tale, telling his travel companions: "I left an embarrassing mark while with a girl once.... she's my girlfriend now, though!"
Paul screwed his face up at their tales, and told the camera: "We've just met you, there's no need! I'm not a big poo story lover."
Celebrity Coach Trip airs weeknights at 8pm on E4.
