Strictly Come Dancing’s Maisie Smith jokes she’s engaged as she poses with co-star amid ‘pregnancy’

STRICTLY Come Dancing star Maisie Smith joked that she is engaged as she messed around backstage on the show's famous tour.

The 20-year-old actress, famous for playing EastEnders' Tiffany Butcher, responded to a post from dance pal John Whaite.

He posted a picture of them together, writing: "So please to announce the engagement of Maisie Smith and John Whaite.

"They'll marry in a field at some point within the next 9 months."

She joined in, joking that she was pregnant, saying: "Make it 10 months so my baby bumps gone ❤️."

Maisie has been posting a string of pictures from behind the scenes on the show's UK tour.

Yesterday she posed in a sparkly gold dress alongside Tilly Ramsay as they kicked off the stage show, which began at the Utilita Arena in Birmingham.

She has also been seen with partner Kai Widdrington, hanging out together between rehearsals.

Maisie joined the Strictly Come Dancing tour when AJ Odudu was forced to drop out with an ankle injury.

She said earlier this month: ”I’m thrilled to be asked to restart my Strictly journey on this year’s arena tour.

"Kai and I will be dancing the Quickstep and the Samba – I can’t wait for rehearsals to start next week.

"It will be a joy to dance with everyone and so great to see my EastEnders friend Rose again. I wish AJ a speedy recovery.”
