The One Show viewers seriously distracted by Stacey Dooley’s outfit as she plugs new book

THE One Show viewers were left seriously distracted by Stacey Dooley’s fashion choice after she appeared on the programme yesterday.

Stacey took to the show to introduce her new book and BBC documentary on Stalkers and rocked a jacket that looked to be too big for her.

For the occasion, the former Strictly Come Dancing star wore a brown oversized jacket that she teamed with a pair of leather trousers and black kitten heels.

While the journalist had sported an outfit that would be deemed on-trend by many, other fans weren't impressed.

Taking to Twitter, one person questioned: "I quite like Stacey Dooley, but why does she always dress like a sack of spuds on The One Show?"

Echoing their comments, someone else said: "What is going on with Stacey Dooley's jacket?"

While a third quipped: "Is Stacey Dooley wearing her dad's jacket?"

The TV star appeared on the programme to speak about her new self-help book - Stacey Dooley Are You Really Ok?

In the publication, Stacey aims to understand what could be at the crux of Britain's Mental Health Emergency.

Presenter Lauren Laverne asked her: "Tell me a little bit about the breadth of it and the topics that you are looking into?"

Stacey replied: "Yeah, well you know what it’s like in terms of back and forth with what we wanted to include and it’s about broadly mental health so there are so many different conversations that we could have had."

"I mean the book could have been sort of fifty chapters long but we had to you know be quite disciplined about the whole thing.

"But I suppose we just tried to speak to various different sections of society and try and figure out why there is this crisis and the pandemic is an obvious contributing factor."

The One Show airs weekdays on BBC One at 7pm.
