Coronation Street’s Tracy Barlow actress Kate Ford admits health battle as she struggles through filming
CORONATION Street star Kate Ford admits health battle as she struggles through filming.
The actress, 45, suffers from endometriosis - a condition that causes cells like those in the womb to appear elsewhere in the body.
It can cause severe pain, fatigue and even infertility.
Kate - who has played Tracy Barlow in the ITV soap since 2002 - shared a snap of her on set that she took while in agony.
She wrote: "Filming #itvcorrie this was a few weeks ago at a time that I was struggling with my #endrometriosis , luckily got lots of support x.
"Just sending a hug out to all those struggling with similar."
The star revealed she'd secretly been battling the condition in June 2018.
It can leave her bedridden with pain, admitting life with the painful condition is "not easy".
The singer explained her health crisis in a candid Instagram message, writing: "Today I braved multiple terrifying surgeries.
"The most important of which being the surgery that would hopefully treat my endometriosis.
"For those of you who have followed this battle of mine or who may suffer with it yourself, you know the extremes to which it can be mentally exhausting and physically painful.
"OK HONESTLY I'm in total agony right now..."
Soap star Kate, who first appeared in Corrie as Tracy Barlow in 2002, married TV producer Jon Connerty in 2007.
They became parents to a son named Otis in 2008, but their relationship broke down and the couple parted ways in 2013.
The actress previously told The Sun of the split: "When Jon and I first parted it was quite hard to put my personal life aside.
"But then it became therapeutic to concentrate on my job...
"We really tried hard to make it work. But it came to the point when we knew we had to get a divorce...
"For a while after we split, I found it hard to get out of bed..."
