THE Responder's Warren Brown is unrecognisable in unearthed pictures from his stint in Hollyoaks 17 years ago.

The 43-year-old actor plays Ray Mullen in the BBC drama, an old and bitter adversary of lead character Chris (Martin Freeman).

Fans of BBC and ITV dramas may recognise Warren from the other big show on at the moment, Trigger Point, starring Vicky McClure, where he plays Karl Maguire.

Warren has also appeared in Liar, Strike Back and Luther as DS Justin Ripley.

However, some TV fans can be forgiven for forgetting that Warren started out in Channel 4 soap Hollyoaks.

Warren played Andy Holt from 2005 to 2006 and also appeared in spin-off shows Hollyoaks: No Going Back, Hollyoaks: Back from the Dead and Hollyoaks: Crossing the Line.

Andy wasn't a nice character, having raped Dannii Carbone and Mel Burton.

Thankfully he got his comeuppance for his horrendous crime after he was killed in 2006.

Andy was beaten with a pole by Russ Owen after he had drugged Nicole Owen and attempted to rape her.

Andy managed to escape to the dark basement of the warehouse they were in, before accidentally impaling himself on a pole and dying.
