Savannah Chrisley’s boyfriend Nic Kerdiles reveals he threatened suicide in emotional video with TV star & dad Todd
SAVANNAH Chrisley appeared in an Instagram Live video with her on again, off again boyfriend, Nic Kerdiles, who admitted to threatening suicide recently amid his struggles with depression, anxiety and Covid.
The trio got emotional as they discussed Nic's mental health problems.
The kicked off with Savannah and Todd Chrisley talking about the impact of Covid on everyone, including them and their family.
Savannah opened the clip by saying: "I just wanted to start this Live by obviously talking about we know how much Covid has impacted all of us.
"Not only has the disease truly impacted us, so has mental health."
She then shared several statistics, revealing a rise of Americans facing anxiety and depression amid the pandemic.
Nic sat quietly, as Todd revealed: "In the last 48 hours we have had some devastating incidents that have occurred and those involve our boy Nic."
Finally, he shared his story: "I'm super grateful to be here today. As Todd and Savannah mentioned I recently went through Covid as well and now reading a lot more about it I kind of understand why this situation might of happened that occurred the other night.

"Definitely not something that is easy to talk to, but I think that if I can share it, it could help somebody else out there as well."
He went on: "Just the other night, I've been, with Covid and some of the things I have from Covid I've been on medication I decided to mix alcohol with it to a point that I don't remember anything that happened that night.
"I was in a full blackout and luckily I had a haircut set up by my good friend Chad and if he wasn't there, I don't know if I would still be here today to be completely honest."
Nic said: "I had a gun by my and I don't know where I was at in my mental state but between the depression, anxiety, the Covid effects, the medication, the alcohol I did something that I never thought I would ever do."
He noted that it was "not easy to talk about," but said he wanted to beat the media "to the punch."
Nic said he was "grateful" to Savannah, Todd and his friend Chad for being there and supporting him.
He added that he hopes to "become a lot better for it" and help people by sharing his story.
Late in the clip, Todd revealed that Nic had been taking an unnamed medication that, upon examination from doctors after his attempt, was known to cause depression and anxiety.
Savannah added: "in 2020 there was a study done that showed the side effects were all psychological."
'IT'S OK'
Savannah, who got emotional as Nic recounted his harrowing tale, chimed in as he finished.
She told viewers, and her beau: "One of the biggest takeaways is it's ok to not be ok.
"That's something I feel like I've told Nic for a little while now that it's ok to not be ok, it's ok to talk about your feelings, it's ok to ask for help.
"There's a suicide prevention hotline you can call. There's so many different outlets and I just don't want you to be afraid to ask for help"
Todd also gave his two cents on the matter, expressing his love for Nic.
He said: "Everyone knows that Todd has been involved in every relationship that my children have had and this is the only one that I've ever loved.
"I love you to this day. And son, I will always love you. I don't care if you marry my daughter. I don't care if y'all date.
"I don't care if you're ever boyfriend and girlfriend. I love you for you because you're a good kid with a great heart and you don't deserve the glass bowl or the fishbowl lifestyle that you've inherited because of us."
Savannah expressed sadness about Nic having to share his tale so soon.
"The unfortunate part about it is someone who's dealing with this right now shouldn't have to come on social media and be forced to tell his story," she said, holding back tears.
"That's the most heartbreaking part is he should be able to tell his story in his time and he wasn't afforded that luxury and that's another form of trauma that he has to work through now."
'I'M PROUD OF YOU'
The video concluded on a high note, though both Todd and Savannah were clearly frustrated and made that known.
Todd turned to Nic as the clip came to an end, saying: "Son, I'm proud of you. There is no shame in this family for you."
He added: "I want you to know, I love you boy. I love you more today than I've ever loved you. That will never change.
"I will be here for you until the day that the good Lord calls me home. Once he calls me home, I hope that's before he calls you home, and if I can't help you before I'm dead, my money will."
Speaking on the state of the complicated relationship, Savannah said: "We've gone back and forth, but my thing is you don't treat people like they're disposable.
"And having someone in your life for four years doesn't matter if you're still dating someone, you still be there for someone. You show love. You show compassion.
"It's ok not to be ok. I think that's the biggest thing is people think it's something to be embarrassed about."
BE AWARE
As the video came to an end, Savannah, Nic and Todd discussed medications and their side effects.
The Chrisley patriarch shared with viewers that Nic had been taking medication to avoid balding – one that he recommended to him.
He said that they later learned that the pills are known to cause negative psychological effects.
Nic urged viewers: "I think that's the point about this is that whether you're going through issues and you're suicidal potentially having those thoughts, or you're not, or your taking medication and you've gone through covid, anything like an outside source like marijuana or alcohol can bring you to a spot you never thought you'd be.
"That's what happened to me."
ALL LOVE
The comments were flooded with support for Nic.
Christine Quinn, of Selling Sunset, wrote: "My heart is breaking but you are all SO STRONG!
"We have all been in that really low place and there is absolutely NO SHAME in that.
"We are so proud of you Nic and grateful to Chad. Sending all the love to the most wonderful family."
Another commenter wrote: "Wow so proud of you nick for sharing."
A third wrote: "Prayers to you all! Thank you Jesus for Nic being with us today."
Nic and Savannah have had a complex relationship.
The pair were rumored to have broken up in October 2021, as Savannah shared a cryptic post about "breakups."
The post read: "Roses are red. Breakups suck. But don't worry girl. You'll have better luck."
The couple was engaged to be married, but called it off in September 2020.
Savannah shared the news on Instagram, writing: "Oh how I wish this smile was on my face and that infectious laugh was spewing out of my body right now...but sadly it's not.
"Nice and I have decided to call it quits. There's no hatred between the two of us...and in all honesty...that makes saying goodbye even harder.
"We have nothing but love, respect, and admiration for one another but it's time for us to move forward individually.
