Following her hectic birthday - which led to her boyfriend bad boy Jacob Hay to meet her parents in a surprising twist - Amy is all set to take on the town with her friends.

Next week, Jacob (Jack James Ryan) approaches Amy, Asha and Summer and suggests they go clubbing in town after the Valentine's Dance.

The three friends agree and meet up with Jacob outside a club.

But as they get ready to hit the dance-floor, Amy becomes increasingly woozy and suddenly collapses.

A horrified Jacob yells at Asha, Summer and Aadi to call an ambulance and the trio obliges while he puts Amy in the recovery position.

In the hospital, Steve McDonald (Simon Gregson) and Tracy Barlow (Kate Ford) are overwhelmed and shocked to see their daughter's seemingly lifeless body.

Well aware of Jacob's criminal past, Steve's protective streak comes out as he asserts that if Jacob is responsible for Amy's condition, he will make sure hers is the last life he wrecks.

A threat Jacob disregards by explaining he reckons Amy's drink was spiked prior to her going to the club.

He is quickly proven right as Steve tells Asha and Aadi that Amy's blood tests have shown she was given GHB, a recreational drug known as a rapist's weapon of choice in bars and nightclubs.

In Steve's eyes, Jacob is the only culprit possible.

This prompts Jacob to bare all by revealing he is in a relationship with Amy, assuring that he would never hurt her.

The nurse soon tells Steve and Tracy that Amy should make a full recovery and that it was being placed in the recovery position that saved her life, to which Asha responds by revealing Jacob positioned Amy before the ambulance came to her.
