The three finalists, PandaMushroom and Robobunny will sing their hearts out to win the epic show.

Davina joined her co-stars Rita Ora, Jonathan Ross, and Mo Gilligan on the panel, but she was also joined by last year's winner Joss Stone, who won last year's series as Sausage.

As The Masked Singer’s latest run reached its finale tonight, panellist Davina McCall admitted that shoppers in Tesco try to trick me into revealing hidden celebs on The Masked Singer.

She says: “I’ve been in showbiz for 30 years and I’ve presented plenty of turkeys. I’ve also presented quite a few shows I really love that no one watched. You think, ‘That’s such a shame — that was a corker.’

“I’ve presented pilot episodes where I thought, ‘Wow, this is amazing!’ then it never got to telly.

“But I think just because I’ve had such a long career, by law of averages, at some point I’ll present another good programme.” After false starts as a singer and dancer, her telly career began aged 25 co-hosting MTV’s Most Wanted.

Then came God’s Gift on ITV and Channel 4 dating show Streetmate.

When Big Brother debuted here in 2000, the Londoner become a star. By the end of her decade presenting, Davina was said to be commanding £85,000 an episode.

So it is no surprise the show forms a frame of reference for all her later work, especially The Masked Singer — where she is a judge rather than host.

She adds: “I knew The Masked Singer was a winner. It had already proven itself in other countries but that doesn’t always mean it’s gonna work here.

“We’ve had plenty of huge shows from America that didn’t work here as well.

“We tried to send Big Brother over to America but it didn’t work as well.

“But as I said, law of averages, one out of every five shows I do is gonna be a banger and I’m just quite lucky because I seem to be on a bit of a run of bangers.”

The ghost of her widely panned BBC talk show, simply titled Davina, which got a single season in 2006, looms large in this talk of turkeys.

It got scathing reviews, not least from chat king Jonathan Ross.

Now Davina and Jonathan, 56, sit together on The Masked Singer’s panel alongside comic Mo Gilligan, 33, and singer Rita Ora, 31.
