EastEnders Danny Dyer opens up on ‘tough week’ saying ‘my brain is attacking me and I’m not f***ing fine’
EASTENDERS star Danny Dyer has opened up about having a “tough week mentally” as his brain is “attacking him”.
The soap actor opened up that he was “not f***ing fine” as he chatted to daughter Dani on their Sorted With The Dyers podcast.
Danny, 44, revealed that he had been “struggling” with his mental health, before encouraging his daughter he would “get through it”.
The star explained: “I’ve had a tough week, mentally. You need to express it, this is what it’s about now.
“We go through these times when we just don’t know how the f**k we are, and we struggle being who we are. Whatever the f**k that is.
“It’s been on me a little, my brain has been attacking me. It’s really difficult, and I wanted to put that out there because I needed to do that.”
Danny continued to encourage others to speak about their negative headspace – insisting it had made him “feel a lot better”.
“Anyone out there that is struggling, you’ve got to open your mouth and say it. Stop saying to people, ‘I’m fine,’ because if you’re f***ing not then express it,” the Mick Carter actor added.
“Now I’ve expressed it, I feel slightly better. Still a little f***ed in the nut, not going to lie. But anyone out there who is with me, don’t worry. I’m going through it as well.”
He concluded with a final encouragement: “It’s OK and you will come through it.”
It comes days after Danny has broken his silence on Dani’s West Ham star boyfriend Jarrod Bowen, gushing over how he “loves him”.
The EastEnders star opened up about his close relationship with the professional footballer, who plays for the actor’s beloved Hammers.
Danny revealed on the Sorted with the Dyers podcast last week that he is “more in love” with Jarrod, 25, than his daughter is.
Speaking about Valentine’s Day with Dani, 25, the proud dad admitted he was extremely pleased to see her in love with the footballer.
“You are alluding to the fact that you’re in love at the moment?” Danny began. “I know you get very shy around this and maybe one day we will discuss it properly.
“It’s interesting I’m probably more in love with your boyfriend than you are.”
He went on to joke: “West Ham are my one true love. I think I love West Ham more than anything else on this planet.”
Dani recently opened up about her relationship with the West Ham footballer, calling him a “lovely guy she is enjoying getting to know”.
She said: “Everything is so early days. Jarrod is a lovely guy and we’re enjoying getting to know each other.
“But Santiago will always be my main priority, he will always come first. I am concentrating on being a mum and, beyond that, whatever happens, happens.”
