The first announcer for the series was none other than the world-famous drag queen RuPaul.

But quickly into tonight’s eagerly anticipated show, the Drag Race favourite seemed to have let the excitement of its return get the better of him.

As he introduced the show, it appeared as though the 61-year-old American fluffed his lines - and viewers weren’t wasting any time in airing their thoughts.

Alongside an emoji of a shocked face, one viewer penned: “Did anyone else just hear Ru Paul swearing during the opening scene? Definitely sounded like the ‘F’ word was used just then.”

Echoing their comments, someone else said: "Ru just swore in the opener of Ant and Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway."

While a third questioned: “Has Ru Paul just opened the show by swearing? Wow.”

Much like RuPaul, other celebrity announcers are expected to return to the studio mic for this series.

So far, Kylie Minogue, Hugh Jackman, Jennifer Hudson have all been identified as stars on the new series.
