‘I’m not a villain, I’m just too honest!’ insists MAFS AU wife Tamara after husband Brent labels her a ‘psychopath’
MARRIED At First Sight Australia's controversial bride Tamara Djordjevic has hit back after being slammed over her outrageous behaviour in tonight's opening episode.
The 29 year-old star of the E4 hit has told The Sun she is not the reality TV baddie she comes across as, despite her new husband Brent Vitiello calling her a 'psychopath'.
In an exclusive interview, Tamara told us: "I am not a villain. I am a self-confident person with a lot of opinions and sometimes I am just far too honest for my own good."
The blonde operations manager, who lives on Australia's Gold Coast, added: People don't always agree with me or have to like me but that doesn't make me a villain.
"I just think it shows I am genuine and don't filter myself to be someone I'm not."
Tonight's opening episode of the hit show's ninth series saw Tamara failing to hide her disappointment when she was matched with Brent after she learnt that he worked in a nightlife industry.
"He does seem like an average kind of guy. Average just isn't for me. I'm not average. I don't do average," she told producers in her to-camera interview.
Despite her judgemental comments on the show, however, Tamara told us she WAS attracted to her spouse, despite her hesitation about his job.
"When I first laid eyes on Brent I thought he was good looking with a cute smile," she said. "He did strike me as a bit of a bad boy with his tattoos and cheeky attitude.
But things went for bad to worse at the couple's wedding reception when Tamara scolded her groom over his table manners.
"You don't seem to know much about your cutlery,' she told him in tonight's shocking premiere. 'You might like things one way and I like them the other way, but my way has to be the right way."

She then left Brent lost for words when she added that she "wears the pants" in relationships before claiming she couldn't date anyone who works in a shop because retail is "below" her.
Brent later moaned to producers "my wife is a psychopath" after she chastised him for cutting their wedding cake wrong and refusing to apologise to her.
Filming for the series took place late last year, however, Tamara insisted she has now changed her harsh views.
She explained: "I definitely wish I never said what I did about retail workers. I never intended on offending anyone or putting anyone down.
"I was not articulating my words very well and was trying to say I need a man with ambition and passion to match my own lifestyle.
"In the the past I have been held back by men who use me and I just never want to make the mistake again of being taken advantage of."
She added that the experience of making the show has changed her as a person.
"MAFS has changed me in a lot of ways," she revealed. "I have learnt sometimes saying less is best.
She continued: "I also know I am quite a reactive person and now thinking back to how I handled certain situations I realize my twisted sense of humour is definitely not everyone's cup of tea..
Tamara copped a backlash from viewers when this episode aired in Australia last month.
"I work in retail and if people like us didn't exist she wouldn't f**king eat," vented one furious viewer.
