Who is Great British Menu finalist Nathan Davies?

THE Great British Menu is back for its seventeenth series in 2022 highlighting culinary talent from across the UK.

The BBC show sees 32 new chefs representing eight different regions or nations go head to head in a bid to get a spot at the banquet.

Who is Nathan Davies?

Thirty-year-old Nathan Davies is a finalist on this year's Great British Menu.

Born in Wolverhampton, he moved to Llangrannog in West Wales when he was six years old and now resides in Aberystwyth.

The chef, who is married with two sons, first competed in the Great British Menu in 2021.

During the Welsh heats, Nathan became the second-highest scoring chef ever in the competition but was beaten to the banquet by Hywel Griffith.

He told being on the Great British Menu was a "surreal experience".

"I grew up watching a show on TV and then I was there cooking," he said.

Nathan also described the 2021 British Innovation theme as challenging but a great learning experience.

In 2022, Nathan secured a place at the banquet after triumphing against fellow Welsh chefs Larkin Cen, Mark Threadgill, and Tom Phillips.

What restaurants has Nathan worked in?

Nathan has worked with Steven Terry at The Hardwick in Abergavenny and as Head Chef at Ynyshir under Gareth Ward for four years, ranked in the top five of the UK’s restaurants in the Good Food Guide.

In 2019 Nathan opened SY23 in Aberystwyth which received its first Michelin star and was named the best new restaurant in the UK in the Michelin guide on February 16, 2022.

When is Great British Menu on BBC?

Great British Menu will be available to watch on BBC Two at 8pm on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.

The chefs will be judged by Tom Kerridge, Nisha Katona, and Ed Gamble.

They Rachel Khoo, Oliver Peyton, and Matthew Fort.

Andi Oliver will reprise her role as presenter.
