Newly engaged Tommy Mallet is a multi-millionaire worth £2.3m – and plans to become show’s first billionaire

HE rose to fame on Towie and it wasn't long until Tommy Mallet became one of the show’s most successful stars of all time.

The 29-year-old, who has just popped the question to partner Georgia Kousoulou, has made millions off the back of his eponymous trainer business.

And the star, who now has a son called Brody, has his sights set on being Towie’s first billionaire.

He previously said: "It’d be nice to make my company a billion-pound company, which is really achievable. That’d be a good achievement and something I am aiming for."

Tommy launched his line - Mallet London - in 2015 and has made sales of more than £11 million.

His trainers are stocked in more than 150 stores around the world and have been worn by celebrities such as Drake, will.i.am and Craig David.

Known for their metallic heel clip, they sell for around £175 and he has branched out into women and children’s shoes too.

Last year he saw its coffers swell by £2.3 million on the previous year, despite the effects of coronavirus lockdowns.

The huge rise meant Tommy and his business partner Evren Ozkarakasli could share a £1.2 million dividend payout.

Last year the pair decided against any payment and the year before took a modest £50,000 each.

Some of Tommy's cash has been pumped into the £1million home he shares with Geogiaand their baby son Brody.

In an interview two years ago, Tommy said: "When I was younger I never had enough money to buy a pair of trainers that I genuinely liked because they were all so expensive, so I put pen to paper and decided to design something similar.

"We went from having a £50k turnover at the end of our first year to having a turnover of around £2.5million towards the end of our second year.”
