Our Yorkshire Farm’s Amanda Owen’s ‘peace shattered’ as fighter jets soar over Ravenseat Farm

OUR Yorkshire Farm’s Amanda Owen said her “peace was shattered” after a fighter jet soared over her farm. 

The mum-of-nine was “going about our business” at her Ravenseat before three fighter jets flew overhead at the weekend.

After the incident, Amanda took to Instagram and said it gave her the thought of being “under attack” in the wake of the Russian war in Ukraine.

The 47-year-old reflected on the conflict in Ukraine, saying people were “simply going about their daily lives and are now under attack.”

She posted a story and penned: “Taking stock. Quietly going about our business when the peace was shattered by three fighter jets overhead.

“A sobering moment, when the people of the Ukraine were, just like us all, only days ago simply going about their daily lives and are now under attack.”

One Twitter user said it was likely a “practice flight that hopefully is never needed”.

Someone else said: “Farmers and their livestock must be very frightened, with all the explosions, tanks, and jets.”

While a third added: “A sobering and upsetting post. We all find pleasure and comfort following you and your lovely family.

“The thought that this could be tainted by what is happening in Ukraine is so, so sad.”
