KILLING Eve season four has been panned as 'stale, past its best and out of ideas' in scathing reviews.
The BBC drama is back for its fourth and final season with Jodie Comer and Sandra Oh once again playing Villanelle and Eve, respectively.
Season three ended with the pair agreeing it would be best for both of them to stay out of each other's lives for good, but season four quickly reveals they couldn't stick to it for long.
While the hunt for The Twelve continues, killer Villanelle has 'found religion' while Eve has a new toy boy after splitting from husband Niko.
But after watching the first couple of episodes, the reviews have not been kind to the show.
said the "once-great show has run out of ideas" and concluded its two star review by saying: "It’s beginning to kill us all."
agreed, writing: "With only a handful of episodes left to go, you would think Killing Eve would pick up the pace, even the slightest bit, and bring us back to the action.
"At the moment, it seems just to be happy meandering towards its conclusion."

Meanwhile asked: "How did the BBC’s sharp, inventive thriller go stale so quickly?"
The review continued: "The thrill has gone....For many of us who were won over by Killing Eve’s first season, it feels like we’re now watching the afterglow of a star that burnt out years ago."
also gave season four two stars alongside the headline: "Jodie Comer gamely persists in a show long past its best."
In the following review it added: "Killing Eve at its peak was a dizzying victory for style over substance. Now the substance is gone and all remains is empty dazzle."
It also said that while Jodie is clearly a star:"For her and the rest of the cast, the imminent demise of Killing Eve is surely a mercy long overdue."
Killing Eve airs Mondays on BBC iPlayer.
