Well that's what happens in new Channel 5 drama The Holiday starring Jill Halfpenny - but some viewers are wondering where the gripping show is filmed.

Where is Channel 5 drama The Holiday set?
The Holiday is set on the island of Malta in the Mediterranean.
The show follows Kate, whose vacation becomes a nightmare after she discovers her husband has been having an affair with one of her close friends.
All four of her friends are on holiday with her, and Kate spends time trying to get to the bottom of what's been going on.
As soon as she gets close to the truth, she eventually realises how high the stakes are, and that someone in the villa might be ready to kill in order to keep the affair a secret.
Where is Channel 5 drama The Holiday filmed?
Malta
Filming for the Channel 5 thriller took place in April 2021 where the show is set, Malta.
The idyllic island is south of the Italian island of Sicily, and cast and crew spent five weeks filming for the series.

Extra precaution had to be taken whilst filming, as Malta was in the middle of a lockdown.
Cast and crew had to undergo 14 days of isolation before starting production for the drama.
Speaking of filming during the pandemic, actress Jill Halfpenny who plays Kate, said the team behind the series were working six-days a week but they were pleased to be back working.
Jill said of the experience: "Malta was in a pretty strict lockdown when we were there, so we were in complete isolation for 14 days, doing fittings and read throughs on Zoom.
"And then we were working six day weeks, so we had to just go to set, film, and go back to our hotel rooms. There was a beach right outside the hotel, but police were patrolling it, making sure people wore masks, so it wasn’t very relaxing!
"We would much rather be working in those conditions than not working at all though, so we were all still really pleased to be out there.
"It was a shame not to be able to go to a nice local restaurant though, we knew the hotel menu off by heart by the end and couldn’t face another curry."

The Holiday kicked off on Channel 5 on Tuesday, March 1, 2022.
The series has four episodes in total airing on consecutive nights at 9pm.
The action will reach its conclusion on March 4, 2022.
Once aired, all episodes will become available to watch.
