Coronation Street spoilers: Adam Barlow faces losing his sight after Lydia Chambers’ horror attack

LYDIA Chambers' revenge turns potentially deadly following a brutal confrontation with Adam Barlow.

Coming up in Coronation Street, the solicitor is on the verge of losing his eyesight after fighting with his former girlfriend.

For weeks, Adam (played by actor Sam Robertson) has been the target of a horrifying hate campaign instigated by Lydia (Rebecca Ryan).

With fraudulent receipts and fake messages, the Underworld PA has managed to convince Adam's wife Sarah (Tina O'Brien) they were having an affair.

This has led to Adam losing everything and as he sees his world crumble, he vows revenge on Lydia, determined to expose her scheming.

Next week, Adam gets a small glimmer of hope when Sarah invites him to celebrate her son Harry's birthday.

However, he is shocked when she tells him she has filed for divorce.

Fed up of being made out to be the bad guy, Adam texts Lydia from Sarah's phone as the latter is distracted.

When he meets with Lydia in a coffee shop, he's ready to catch her red-handed by recording their encounter - unfortunately, Lydia is one step ahead of him and snatches his phone to delete the recording.

The meeting becomes violent when Lydia, blinded with rage after another hostile exchange of words, slaps Adam

He topples backwards over the railings to Lydia and his uncle Daniel Osbourne's (Rob Mallard) horror.

Adam survives but, while at the hospital, Ken and Daniel are told he is at risk of losing his sight due to a bleed behind his eye.

It is revealed the only thing that could save his sight is an operation.

Sarah is made aware of Adam's condition by Peter, who assures her he's no longer her problem.

But much like fans have predicted before as begins to question Lydia, Carla (Alison King) urges Sarah to be present for Adam.

What will Sarah choose to do?

Could she finally see sense?

Speaking of sight, will Adam come out of the ordeal unscathed?
