Emmerdale spoilers: Laurel Thomas humiliated by son Arthur over Jai split

BETRAYED by Jai Sharma, Laurel Thomas was too hurt to continue their relationship.

Coming up in Emmerdale, however, the Hide café manager gets blamed for the split by her son Arthur.

Couples in the Dales are never really allowed a break and Laurel's (played by Charlotte Bellamy) relationship makes no exception.

In recent weeks, the character has been at loggerheads with businessman Jai (Chris Bisson) and even decided to call it quits after a shocking betrayal.

But in scenes due to air next week, it's revealed Laurel has never told her son Arthur (Alfie Clarke) what really happened between her and Jai and the 14-year-old has harboured some ugly thoughts.

A frustrated Arthur barks up the wrong tree and accuses his mother of sleeping with someone else and being unfaithful to Jai.

Laurel is humiliated but her former partner quickly jumps in to the rescue, setting Arthur straight.

Whether Jai will be telling him the truth and nothing but the truth remains to be seen but the events leading up to Jai and Laurel's breakup are no secret to ITV viewers.

Fearing he may lose everything following a hefty fine, Jai fraudulently filed for a loan in Laurel's name, thus scamming her for a whopping amount of money.

He could have gotten away with it - if Kim Tate (Claire King) hadn't decided to put Mulberry Cottage up for sale.

Laurel desperately tried to find a way to remain in the eponymous village but eventually decided to buy the home from Kim.

She soon found out what Jai had been up to and, unable to forgive him, broke up with him without mentioning anything to her children, Arthur and five-year-old Dotty.

But as her former husband Marlon Dingle will be suffering from a stroke next week, Laurel is in for a massive shock and Jai could be the first one to offer her some support.

However, Laurel may not even want to fix the relationship at all as Jai's betrayal wreaked a lot of havoc in her life.

Can Laurel and Jai make amends?

Will Jai really come clean to Arthur about their breakup and the actions that have contributed to it?
