Ex EastEnders star looks unrecognisable as he transforms into drag queen for new gig

HE won viewers' hearts on EastEnders during his 17-year stint on EastEnders but now he looks unrecognisable as a drag queen in his new role.

Shane Richie, 58, is best known for playing lovable landlord Alfie Moon on and off from 2002-2019.

But now he has had transformed into drag queen Loco Chanelle for his role in smash stage musical Everyone's Talking About Jamie.

The talented actor looks totally different with a full face of slap and curly red wig.

Shane, who is on tour with the production, sports dramatic fake eyelashes, exaggerated eye make-up and cartoonish red lips for the camp role.

He also wears dangling black earrings to get into character and he was clearly very proud of his transformation.

Shane captioned the snap, which he shared on instagram: "Woking  you didn’t let us down !!! Wonderful catching up some old faces and meeting some new ❤️ 💯    "

And his fans were quick to react to the epic new look.

"What a face! 😍😍" wrote one.

"Amazing pic" chimed in his I'm a Celeb... pal Victoria Derbyshire.

Everybody's Talking About Jamie was a smash hit on London's West End and was turned into a film starring Sharon Horgan.

It follows the story of a drag-loving schoolboy who refuses to conform and overcomes cruel bullies to become his true self.

Shane hasn't been in EastEnders since 2019 but has hinted he would return in the future.

His character Alfie took a dark turn when it was revealed he fathered a love child behind wife Kat's back.

Shane competed on I'm A Celebrity...in 2020, finishing in fourth place behind Vernon Kay, Jordan North and jungle queen Giovanna Fletcher.
